Morgan joined forces with Davidson & Jones Construction Company based in North Carolina to build this 65,000 SF Hampton Inn located on an extremely confined job site in the Atlanta suburb of Kennesaw. The structure of this 100 room Hilton brand hotel is block and plank. A long list of amenities including an indoor heated spa pool and “think tank” meeting room put this hotel in high demand and made the construction schedule unforgiving.
The Live-Work Units 1, 2, and 3 were the first mixed use commercial buildings constructed in the Serenbe Development. From the exterior, this project is intended to look like three separate buildings, commissioned by different owners. This is however, one building with appropriate fire and security separations demanded by fire and life safety codes.
Residence Inn at The Mayo Clinic Jacksonville is a 190 room ground up hotel Morgan built during the peak of the Covid 19 pandemic which added numerous schedule and labor challenges. The hotel also features an outdoor swimming pool, restaurant and meeting rooms.
The Blue-Eyed Daisy Bake Shop was the first commercial project developed in the Serenbe Community. This unique building consists of metal stud construction and utilizes hand selected recycled brick for exterior walls and re-purposed wood for the floors and ceiling. In keeping with Serenbe’s commitment to the highest environmental standards, the Bake Shop features a geothermal heating and cooling system with 11 tons of geothermal wells, and was awarded the U.S. Green Building Council LEED® Silver rating.
The anchor tenant of this 15,000 SF mixed building is the award winning Hill restaurant. The completed building includes not only an interior build out for the Hill restaurant, there are also commercial office spaces and retail units on the ground floor. A structural wood framing system with exterior walls clad in traditional brick, custom wood trim fenestration, and complicated elevation changes are highlights of the project.
